About Anna Coroneo:
New York based artist and designer, Anna Coroneo, originally hails from Sydney, Australia. Anna completed her Bachelor’s degree in Design (Hons) majoring in Textile Design and Graphics/Media at the College of Fine Arts (University of New South Wales) in 2006. Anna has also completed studies at Central Saint Martins in London and at Parsons, The New School in New York, where she was merited on the Dean’s List in 2008.
Anna has exhibited her works in solo and group shows in New York. She also exhibits with the Art Focus gallery in Sydney, where her works have been included at ArtSydney.
Anna’s paintings are often series of abstract works (ink on paper and oil, acrylic on canvas), inspired by the juxtaposition of the natural world with the built environment. She also enjoys exploring the media of photography. Her works exude a vibrant liveliness, which have a dramatic presence and are translated into print designs for fashion and interior textiles.
Anna finds that her interests in all areas of design and art, are inter-related, having worked for various creative companies both in Sydney and in New York. These include Henri Bendel, Sass and Bide, and Theory. Anna has also worked directly for some of the most luminous names in fashion including Glenda Bailey, Editor in Chief of Harper's Bazaar, USA.
Anna’s entrepreneurial spirit and creative flair drove her to start her fashion label, in 2001. Anna’s fashion designs continue along her initial concept of marrying a relaxed Sydney beach-chic lifestyle with the fast and flirtatious energy of NYC. What distinguishes Anna’s fashion designs are her unique textile prints, which are translated from her art works.
Anna's art and fashion are highly sought after and collected internationally.
