About the performers:
Yvonnick Prene (Harmonica)
Jazz legend Lee Konitz says “The most beautiful music I have ever heard on the harmonica”. Born in Paris, composer and band leader Yvonnick Prene has played with Manu Katche, Dave Glasser, Cyrille Aimee, and Ira Coleman among others. In 2011 he earned a master degree in Music and Research at the Sorbonne University and a Bachelor of Fine Art from The New School.?His debut album "Jour de Fête" on SteepleChase Records was chosen “Revelation 2013” by Jazz Magazine.
Martha Kato (Piano)
Born in Nagoya, Japan in 1989, Martha Kato is a pianist and composer.. In 2011, she has performed as a pianist of Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra at Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans, at Bern Jazz Festival in Switzerland with Yacine Boulares Quartet, and at Mary Lou Williams Women In Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. Her composition "After The Rain" has received honorable mention for 2012 ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composer Awards.
Eric Wheeler (bass)
Bassist Eric Wheeler is a D.C. native, and leads the newly formed Hill Center Jazz Ensemble. Since getting his masters in jazz performance from Howard University, Eric has been a rising star in the D.C. and New York City jazz scenes. Eric recently appeared with Cyrus Chestnut, Roy Hargrove, and Tim Warfield, in addition to performing on numerous recordings.

TOY is a transcendent, multifunctional dining space inside the Hotel Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District comprised of an indoor/outdoor Oyster and Sushi Bar, an al fresco terrace and a bi-level dining space with a private dining room overlooking the restaurant. Modern Chinese and Japanese influences, including Shrimp 'toast' Cigars with Shitake Mushrooms and Coral, and a Long Bone Short Rib with Szechuan Black Pepper Sauce and Wokked Chinese Long Beans. An adjoining Oyster and Sushi Bar also offers wide selections of shellfish, classic and creative rolls(including no rice rolls), traditional and topped nigiri and sashimi.
