Elena Baxter

Together, with sister Rachael Lechliter, Elena balances the business of running Red Rover PR with giving back successfully and stylishly.

How do you balance your career and giving back so successfully?
With a lot of planning! My sister / partner and I launched our own PR company in January of 2010, and then launched RedRoverStyle.com (our lifestyle + Charity magazine) in April 2010. Things get very busy and some areas have been more successful than others. Overall, it has been a fruitful experience, and lessons are learned all the time. But honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way.

How have your experiences with the charities you support changed your outlook on your own life?
It has been both an honor and a privilege to work with all of the different charities we have worked with. It definitely has taught us not to sweat the small stuff. We go through life not realizing how fortunate we really are, and the more we’ve become advocates against sex trafficking in America, the more our perspective on life and where true value lies has grown deeper.

Who or what has been your greatest inspiration?
Our beliefs truly inspire us - foundationally and ethically. We are Christians, and our Mother exemplified honest self-sacrifice. Additionally, she has inspired through establishing a strong standards of belief in each of us from a young age.

Many people want to do their part for those in need, but don’t know the best way to go about it. What would your advice be to them?
One must get up, and just do it! Social Media has made it very easy for people to ‘get involved’ and personally, most of our participants have been from announcing via social media. We consider ourselves privileged because we are a great team. Once we knew what we wanted, we just did it. There were and always will be obstacles on the path, but a lot of the pieces just came together. Chances are your friends and acquaintances are heavily involved with an organization, so follow their lead. Also, don’t be afraid to research. Figure out what your heart beats for, and use your resources to find out more. Lastly, but most importantly - Go for it whole heartedly with great passion!
