Tell us about your work – what inspired you to become a New York City Firefighter?
After September 11, I left college to answer the call [to service]. After my service to this great nation, I wanted to come home and serve my city as a New York City Firefighter. I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps as a New York City Fireman. How have your experiences with NYFD changed your outlook on NYC?
To be able to work in the greatest city in the world and to protect citizens from danger is very rewarding. I never had a negative attitude on the city so it didn't change much ...except the traffic and crazy cabbies Recently, you donated your time to participate in the Annual New York City Firefighter calendar. Which organization is the calendar raising money for this year?
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each calendar benefit the burn centers around the city Where can people buy the calendar? Nyfire.com
or at the Greenwich village fire store. Many people want to do their part for those in need, what would your advice be to them?
Look left and right the people in our life's everyday need help. I believe we should be helping people in our community before helping people in Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.About Phil: Favorite City?
