Ever think you’d see James Cameron snacking on a cockroach, or Sen. John Glenn enjoying roast armadillo? At the 109th Explorers Club Annual Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria on Saturday, March 16, these honorees will mingle with deep sea divers, North Pole travelers and moon pioneers to sample some of the world’s most exotic and sustainable cuisine.
The dinner is one of New York City’s and the Waldorf’s longest running events, and serves as a fundraising event for sponsorship of some of the most remarkable and important scientific explorations and technological advances of our time.
Some exciting aspects of this year’s dinner:
•Honorees including James Cameron and Sens. John Glenn and Scott Carpenter
•Signature appetizers include roast armadillo, and insect, flower and snake hors d’oeuvres
•A piece of the moon, moon soil samples and a glacier on display, along with an interactive mini planetarium
