Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina, located on Manhattan’s oldest paved street, Stone Street, will participate in a fund raising night on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 to support Self Help Africa’s work in helping people in rural Africa to lift themselves out of poverty. The unique location of Mad Dog & Beans allows guests to dine outdoors on historic Stone Street, which is lined with some of city’s best bars and restaurants. During the event, participating establishments will donate 20% of all purchases to Self Help Africa.
The event, organized by IMMGRAM and Stone St., in collaboration with the Irish New York business networks, IN-NYC, IBO, and IIBN, will kick off at 5:00pm and will last until 11:00pm that night. Participating establishments include Mad Dog & Beans, Becketts, Burger Burger, The Dubliner, Pizza Pizza, and Stone St. Tavern. Event sponsors include XSP and Southern Wine and Spirits.
For every item consumed throughout the festival, an automatic donation will be made to Self Help Africa. For over a quarter-century, Self Help Africa has sought to empower rural Africa to achieve economic independence by tackling the challenges faced by rural farming communities. The organization strives to strengthen agricultural systems and provide rural African communities with the opportunities to market and sell their produce.
For those seeking a unique way to dine out while supporting a great cause, this event is the answer. Guests who choose to dine at Mad Dog & Beans will enjoy exceptionally fresh, made to order guacamole and hand squeezed Mad Dog Margaritas made with premium tequila, all the while raising money to help Africa help itself.
