Join us for our 4th Wine Tasting Fundraiser, an event to raise awareness and funds to support loans through Kiva.org. Kiva's goal is to empower people around the world with a $25 dollar loan. We are looking to continue to support this cause while enjoying the company of fellow New Yorkers.
Kiva New York Lending Team is proud to partner with Nuru Project (www.nuruproject.org/) on this event. Nuru Project will present photojournalism prints that depict life in the places where Kiva invests. Prints will be for sale at the event. 50% of print sale proceeds benefit Kiva and 25% benefit the photographers. Please check out their work and be ready to be amazed.
We will taste 4-5 different wines from small, family farmed estates throughout Europe and the United States. Along with the wine we will be having light snacks and Riccardo from Arepas Cafe (borrower through one of Kiva's US partners, ACCION USA) is bringing his incredible arepas (www.arepascafe.com/arepas/home.php).
Moore Brothers is kindly donating their time, space, and wine. As a result, nearly your entire ticket will be used towards Kiva. 10% of the funds raised will go as a donation to Kiva, with the remaining porition to the non-withdrawable New York Team Fund to support loans infinitely (www.kiva.org/lender/kivanewyork).
